Why still 35mm? 10 years of photography with film

Why still shoot 35mm film? It’s expensive. It can be hard to find. It may be expired, and the results are never guaranteed. You only get 36 frames. But it’s worth it. Film is a human, slow process, intentional, and full of surprise. It may not be affordable, but it still makes sense.

We spent a few hours wandering through Tehran’s old streets, each of us looking through our own lens—some shooting film, some digital, all following our curiosity. After the walk, we gathered at a café to talk, rest, and share stories from the day. Later, we shared our photographs with one another: different frames, different perspectives, and one afternoon experienced together.c
